Sarah is a certified Mind Coach and licensed Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). She is trained by Master Trainer Brian Colbert of the Irish Institute of NLP and certified by Dr. Richard Bandler, the co-founder of NLP, ensuring the highest standards of training and ethics are adhered to. She is also trained in hypnosis and has successfully completed a course in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).
Personal Struggles and Finding Passion
My passion for empowering people to get more out of life came from my own personal struggles. I was held back by limiting beliefs and lack of direction. I started studying NLP, coaching and human behaviour because I recognised the need for change in my own life. I suddenly found myself in my thirties without any real purpose or direction. Life was happening to me and it seemed I had no particular influence on the outcome.
Although I performed well in school, I struggled with decision making and found myself ‘following the crowd’, signing up for college courses, and consequently dropping out of them, because I was doing what I thought I should be doing according to society.
At the age of 18 I was in one of the most prestigious colleges in Europe, on track for a secure career. However, my heart just wasn’t in it, and so after the first semester I dropped out and got my first permanent job in banking only to return to study after a couple of years. I earned a Degree in Management from the Dublin Institute of Technology. Throughout college I taught English and was a dance instructor. It was in this I found my greatest joy; sharing what I had learnt and guiding others in their pursuit of bettering themselves made me come alive. However, like many others, I neglected to pursue my passion for a long time because of limitations I put on myself, doubt and negative self-talk.
Exhaustion and Burn-Out
At the age of 25 I moved to the Middle East for my next adventure. Having spent almost eight years there, working with people from all walks of life and travelling the world under physically demanding circumstances, I found myself reaching the point of exhaustion and burnout. I hadn’t had a regular sleep pattern in those eight years. Often going for 30hrs without sleep was a regular occurence. On the outside my life seemed glamorous but I was suffering physically and mentally. It was then that I turned to NLP to take control of my own life and put a strict ‘anit-drifting’ policy in place and to really take care of myself. I experienced first hand how quickly changes began to happen in my own life by applying what I had learnt through NLP.
Self-Development, Hypnosis, Ayurveda, Meditation, Comfort Zones and Goals
I had my own limiting beliefs to overcome. I read hundreds of books on self-developement, went on Ayurvedic retreats, got hypnotised, fasted, detoxed, meditated and pushed the boundaries of my comfort zone in pursuit of growth and clarity. I created a road map of where I wanted to be and how I was going to get there. Getting specific on this allowed me to focus with great precision, implementing daily habits that would bring me closer to my goals.
Anxiety, Doubt, Depression to Transformation
Having overcome anxiety, uncertainty, self doubt and depression I am now inspired to work with people to help them find their path and get them comfortable sitting in the driver’s seat of their own life. Working with others in their transformation, seeing them achieve their full potential and make incredible breakthroughs is what gives me goosebumps! I am delighted to say I have found my purpose and passion and I look forward to working with you to get you where you want to be.
